PHOENIX MODEL MARKET ADDING SECOND NEXTGEN TV TRANSMISSION SITE AND SINGLE FREQUENCY NETWORK

NEW YORK – October 14, 2019 – As broadcasters converge on Manhattan this week for NAB Show New York, the Phoenix Model Market partners and Pearl TV today announced several developments that will positively impact the deployment of NEXTGEN TV signals throughout the country.  A second transmission facility for NEXTGEN TV broadcasts in Phoenix, AZ is planned for later this year that will power a Single Frequency Network (SFN) – the first market to have two transmission towers with a SFN configuration — once the transmission licenses are approved by the FCC and the facilities are on-air.

ATSC 3.0 Technology Will Deliver Flexible, Internet Protocol Broadcast TV to Enhance Options for Viewers

DETROIT, MI – May 15, 2019 – On the heels of last month’s announcement that TV broadcasters in the Top 40 TV markets will be launching Next-Gen TV services by the end of 2020, Detroit’s WMYD, owned by The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP), today announced plans to launch the new broadcast TV technology in a collaborative effort that will also involve Graham Media Group and other local broadcasters.

PHOENIX MODEL MARKET PARTNERS EXPANDING TEST BED TO INCLUDE A SECOND TRANSMISSION SITE AND SINGLE FREQUENCY NETWORK BROADCASTS

PHOENIX, AZ – (April 4, 2019) – A collaborative effort in Phoenix that involves a dozen broadcast stations will soon expand beyond a single Next-Gen TV transmission tower to include an additional station with a signal that will be enhanced through the use of a Single Frequency Network (SFN).  As part of the Phoenix Model Market project, and with planning and design consultation from the National Association of Broadcasters, this this second station for Next-Gen TV will shortly be going on-the-air to help broadcasters evaluate the benefits of SFN transmissions.
